Eduardo Perez-Molina Asociado

Has been Research Associate at the Programa de Investigación en Desarrollo Urbano Sostenible, Universidad de Costa Rica, since Oct. 2006. He was visiting scholar at the Department of UrbanStudies and Planning, MIT (Oct. 2009-April 2010), where he worked on Climate Change mitigation and carbon neutrality policies for San Jose, CR, with Dr.Juan Carlos Vargas-Moreno. Prior research activities include environmental externalities analysis and assessment for human settlements (with particular emphasis on transportation systems), socioeconomic analysis, and Urban Economy modeling. He has developed research projects integrating GIS and Econometric techniques – especially Spatial Econometrics and Statistcs – in a diversity of subjects (housing and urban development, land values, social planning, environmental planning). Further, he has ample expertise on the definition of municipal regulations, particularly on Industrial Uses and Transportation Infrastructure. He graduated as a Civil Engineer (2000-2006) at the University of Costa Rica and completed a postgraduate specialization course on Land Use Policy (Oct. 2009-Feb. 2010) jointly taught by the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, Universidad Centroamericana (El Salvador) and Universidad de San Carlos (Guatemala).
